Character's Name: Moondrop Type: Summerwing Gender: Male Age: 16 Physical Description: Delicate, and small. His wings are green, and have little white spots on the outside edge, and two large black "eyes" on the bottom half of the wings. His body is white, his hair is pale lavender and his eyes are dark purple. His hair is rather long and thick, and tends to hang over his slender neck and drift into his face, and against his shoulders. His hooves have no feathering, although this is not particularly rare in Wingers. His symbol is of a dark purple crescent moon, with a tiny dewdrop-shaped jewel hanging from the bottom.
Powers: Flight, and the ability to use music to influence the growth of plants. He is a somewhat-gifted singer, and his voice focuses his magic on a specific plant, encouraging them to grow and flourish. He cannot cause plants to die, and he cannot cause unnatural changes; for example, he would not be able to grow a sunflower as high as a tree, but he would be able to cause it to grow as high as its genes would allow. (In this way, he could also speed up fruit/flower production, but he wouldn't be able to make an apple tree produce oranges.) Personality: Moondrop is a very gentle, shy soul; he has more moth elements to him than butterfly, in a way. He prefers to move around at night, as he finds it less hot and sticky. He flourishes in the cool evening, and tends to sleep in til noon so he can stay up most of the night. He would become fully nocturnal, if it weren't for his friends. He is slow to make friends, as he is quite shy by nature, but he is a very trusting, kind little pony. He is also rather intelligent, and thoughtful, taking time to make an educated decision rather than leaping into the middle of things.
History: Moondrop is a Winger, and therefore has a certain affinity to butterflies. Of course, he SHOULD, but he seems drawn to moths much more. This is not particularly alien to the Winger culture, as moths and butterflies are quite closely related, but Moondrop always stuck out a little among his peers. Hence, being very shy and sensitive, he took all of their little "weirdo butterfly" jibes personally. Moondrop's mother was a mothy-winger, like him, so she naturally became his main playmate when he stopped hanging out with the other children. And even though his father had the more butterfly-like wings, he still took his son's hurt feelings very seriously, and often joined in their afternoon games.
So, for the first twelve years or so of his life, Moondrop was very solitary, and stayed closer to home with his parents. Children tended to be very cruel, and Moondrop's unique appearance certainly didn't help matters; hence, he didn't socialize very much. However, when he turned 13, several new ponies moved into his neighborhood, including several pairs with children. Since he tended to be out late at night, Moondrop didn't worry himself with them very much; hence, imagine his surprise when he nearly walked into a pair of them late one night! At first, the pair seemed a little distrustful of him; they'd never met him before, and why would any sane pony be running around after midnight? Moondrop simply repeated the questions back to them, as THEY were also out after midnight, and both were strangers to him. The two needed a third player for their game, however, and the trio grudgingly began to play with one another.
After that night, Moondrop realized that he had friends. Admittably, he only had two, but from that day on they were his dearest and closest confidants. The trio have been inseperable ever since, and they now traipse around the island in search of adventures, generally raising hell and having a good time. The leader of the group is either Pak or Vio, but Moondrop is usually cast in the "thoughtful and peaceful follower" role, mostly by his preference. He is simply content to follow his two friends around, making sure they don't get in TOO much trouble while having their fun. Birthplace/Current Residence: Tropics Island

Character's Name: Vio (Short for Violin, which he rarely mentions) Type: Summerwing Gender: Male Age: 17 Physical Description: Small, slender, the whole Summerwing package. His body is pale green, and his hair is candy-striped red and blue. Thankfully, it's too wispy to go into ringlets (a la the Candy Cane ponies), and it usually just ends up drifting around behind him as he flies in a bit of a confusing swirl. His symbol is a tiny chameleon, half-dissapearing into his side. His eyes are vibrantly yellow, and his wings are a kalediscope of green, blue, yellow, and red.
Powers: Flight, and camoflage: he can use his powers to change his colors, so that he can become nearly invisible by melting into the background behind him.
Personality: Vio is, to say the least, trouble. Trouble seems to be Vio's best friend, aside from Moondrop and Pak, and he if he isn't in it, he's well on his way. Of course, given his strict childhood upbringing, it's not impossible to imagine him doing even small things to get into trouble. He is a little bit of a brat; he knows how to push pony's buttons, and if he feels like it, he'll do it, if he thinks he'll get a laugh out of it. Although, even though he can come across as a bit arrogant and spoiled (which he is, to an extent), Vio is a good-hearted young stallion deep down; in fact, he's actually quite sensitive, and although he would never show it, he DOES cry. He's just too headstrong for his own good sometimes, and needs to be put in his place. Of course, his parents' methods haven't worked so far...
History: Vio was born to one of the few somewhat "well off" Wingers on Tropics Island. Considering that it is an island fairly well seperated from any other mainland, wealth and property values don't matter as much as some think they should. Vio's parents, for example: Vio's parents were rather well-known in their homeland of Dream Valley, but were forced to leave after an embarassing incident regarding securities fraud, and some "misplaced" diamonds. (For the record, his parents didn't take the diamonds; the fraud, well, that's another story!) Vio was only three or four when they left, and he hardly cared about the move. He just figured he'd 'out grown' his friends at preschool, and it was time to get new ones!
Vio's life on Tropics Island should have been blissful for a wealthy young Winger; unfortunately, Vio was not a meek little schoolgirl, happy to fit into his new place. He rebelled against his parents frequently as he grew up, even though much of their wealth was tied up in the investigation back in Dream Valley. Even despite their money being gone, they still tried to rule over Vio's life, and their constant dissaproval stung Violin at every turn. He wasn't necessarily a bad child, but his parents simply weren't sure HOW to be parents. They expected Vio to be a miniature adult, and when he reacted "incorrectly" (or so they mistakenly thought), their punishments were far too harsh. That, or non-existant; sometimes, they simply ignored him when he misbehaved.
So, between over-punishing and under-watching, Vio figured out (with little trouble) how to play the game. He'd behave just as much as he had to, to keep from being sent off to boarding school or boot camp, and he'd screw around with everything else as much as he wanted. He'd often get in trouble just to see if he could get a rise from his parents; since good behavior had long since been ignored, he simply got their attention in any way he could.
As he got older, Vio could have very easily become a dropout or cruel teen; however, he had two steadfast friends beside him, Pak and Moondrop, and whatever guidance his parents didn't give him, he often picked up from them, or their parents. Sure, they were the "lower class" that his parents feared and disliked, but they were his family, sort of. They'd always treated him more like family than his own had!
So instead of spending all his time finding a "proper" job, or jetting back to Dream Valley to find a "proper" Winger wife, Vio lives happily and peacefully on Tropics Island, spending time with his buddies and generally getting into trouble-- but thanks to Moondrop, not TOO much trouble!

((Hehe, sorry for so many characters! XD))
Character's Name: Lune (Child name: Klo) Type: "Giraffey"/Ssussun Gender: Male Age: 17
Physical Description: Tall and slender, much more giraffe-like than the average pony due to the area he was born in. Has two small horns on his head, covered with silky fur, and his ears are larger than the average pony's. His most distinctive feature is his long, elegant neck, and lack of feathering on his hooves. He and his brother are nearly identical, with only minor differences. Both brothers are a creamy milk-white color, rather than starkly white, and their symbols are small blue-and-white diagonal sparkles that trail from their flanks to their jaws. Both have pale blue eyes, and dark blue hair. Lune has a small blue sparkle on his forehead, just above his eyes, and his hair is more curly and fine than his brother's. As an anthro, his hair falls to his shoulders in silky waves.
Powers: Can cause himself to glow. Can also change the strength of the glow (as well as the location on the body, or just a full-body glow) from a gentle, pale light, to a striking, nearly-blinding flash.
Personality: Lune is a generally sweet young Ssussun; he is a little on the shyer, more quiet side, and he is not one to leap into something without thinking it through. He is intelligent, but sometimes can be a little too innocent for his own good, and his knowledge of music and history is not matched with his street-smarts. He tries to control it, but he can be quite emotional. And, he tends to internalize his worries and problems, provoking a teary wail at seemingly random intervals. However, he is generally a level-headed and careful young Ssussun, and fiercely protective of his brother.
History: (See Soleil for shared history)
Birthplace/Current Residence: Abroad
Character's Name: Soleil (sun) (Child name: Kli) Type: "Giraffey"/Ssussun Gender: Male Age: 17
Soleil has a blue sparkle on his right cheek, and his hair is more thick and feathery than his brother's. As an anthro, his hair ruffles over his shoulders lightly.
Powers: Can cause other things to glow, simply through touch; can change the strength of the glow as well, from a gentle, pale light, to a striking, nearly-blinding flash.
Personality: Soleil is a sweet little Ssussun male, much like his brother, and although he shares some of his traits (such as being shy and bright), he is still quite unique from his brother. Where Lune is thoughtful and slow to act, Soleil tends to make snap decisions, and leap into action as soon as he has the minimum amount of information that he feels is "needed". Hence, he can get into a little more trouble than his brother, although he can usually figure out a way to fix it. He is emotional, like his brother, but much less so: if he's feeling sad, he'll cry a bit, and then start getting over it. He doesn't (usually) hold onto things longer than needed, unless it's some kind of personal slight/insult, ESPECIALLY if it's to his brother. And, like his brother, he is not terribly street-smart, and quite innocent. As far as likes and dislikes, however, Soleil is more likely to go play a game of kickball, whereas Lune would rather be inside reading a book.
History: (Combined history for Lune and Soleil)
Lune and Soleil, born Klo and Kli, were born to two very doting and affectionate Ssussun parents on the eastern continent of Quon. (Editor's note: Basically, the Ponyland equivalent to Africa.) Kli was born first, but only by a minute or so: as nearly all Ssussun young were born as twins, it was not uncommon for the two to be born together. For most of their childhood, the pair lived with their mother and father, fairly average members of their Ssussun clan. Their herd wandered up and down the coastline of their home continent, so they were able to avoid most of the predators and dangers that lurked further inland.
Soleil and Lune were fairly average little Ssussuns, both on different spectrums for their kind. Soleil was among the more rambunctious of the Ssussun younglings, galloping out to explore whatever new creature wandered into their territories and always the first to splash into a river or mudhole. Lune, on the other hand, was among the number of young who hung back with the rest of the herd, hiding among their parents' legs. Still, the two were more similar than not, and Lune occasionally galloped out with Soleil, and Soleil could equally be found hiding with Lune in the jungle of Ssussun bodies. In short, the two were near-inseperable, as Ssussun twins should be. They got into more than their fair share of trouble, but managed to get through their childhood without any major trauma or damage to their bodies, much to their mother's relief.
When they were close to their 17th birthdays, the two went out on a "young adult" exercise: basically, the idea was that the two would need to be able to survive on their own if seperated from their herd, and this was a brief training mission for them to learn how to do that. They'd already learned the basics of survival, now they simply needed to practice it on their own. Really, it was overkill: their entire herd spent all of their time wandering around and living in the wild, why would they need to prove they knew how to survive? Still, it was in their own best interest (even if it seemed pointless), so the pair set out late one summer afternoon, trotting away to the beach. The idea was, they would spend a day near the ocean, allowing the herd to move away, and then find the herd again, while simultaneously keeping themselves fed and safe. Finding food was easy, but water required a little more skill. But the pair were bright, even for their kind, and they held no worries about the exercise.
Since the beach was a rare treat, the pair spent most of their "wait time" playing in the sand and surf, generally having a good time without the herd's watching eyes on them. However, another pair of watching eyes was locked onto them that day, that of a pirate ship looking for a safe dock. Many years ago, Quon had been a somewhat-famous pirate's favorite stop-off point for supplies, and even though that pirate had since died, the continent was still known as a good place to find food and water. For that reason, most herds of Ssussun usually stayed farther inland, so that even the rare pirate ship wouldn't find them.
Soleil and Lune didn't know much of the pirates, and so didn't know that they should run away as quickly as possible. To their credit, the pair moved inland, assuming that the pirates wouldn't attack if they were left alone, and were ambushed only a short time after. They didn't have much of a chance, really; two small Ssussun, not even fully grown, up against several large, muscular pirates? Laughable.
The pair were carted back to their ship, struggling all the way, and locked up in the hold with the rest of the "cargo", to be sold off at the next slave market. The pair were soon seperated, and have since been traded off to different ships and crews. They still both hold high hopes of being reunited, and are simply doing their best to be ignored for now, so that they might survive til that day.
