A pretty white Pegasus pranced into the Pub. Shaking her magenta mane out of her face, she took look around. It was quaint, she thought, though she probably would not have picked the decor. As long as they made good coffee was all that really mattered though.
Daisy May's lower lip quivered, "I'm coming down off the sugar: I need a fix...now!"
She glanced around the Pub for a bartender or a cute girl...whichever came first.

In through the door came a sleek black unicorn with white socks on all four feet and a long lilac mane and tail. But she was a bit wet and cold as she walked in, quietly, trying not to attract much attention. She found a spot at the bar and waited for the bartender. She was rather quiet but the look in those green eyes of hers did not spell innocence nor did it spell fiend either. And strangely, she had no weapons on her. No trinkets, nothing, just a little sand sticking to parts of her black, semi-wet coat. She sat very still, save for a shiver or two. She kept her eyes to herself, too. Who was she and why was she there?

It was a few minutes before Daisy May noticed the new-comer. Her sapphire eyes took in the lovely sight of the unicorn. The pony's raven coat and long lilac hair were quite a colour combo...and quite pretty too. The girl looked wet and cold. Was it raining outside?
Daisy May smiled flirtaciously and approached the unicorn. Handing her cup of coffee to the pony, she said sweetly, "You look like you need this more than I do."

The silken black female looked at the pink and white pegasus. For a brief second, the green eyes seemed to glow a bit with an unreadable expression. It wasn't hostle nor friendly. But then, her countanence changed to a rather greatful, soft smile as she took the cup and drank in a long, warming gulp. She swallowed the coffee slow to savor the warmth she so desperately needed. "Thank you." she said after she swallowed. "I really needed this." She took another sip, looking at the pegasus through her wet, lilac, long hair. Were all the ponies here so nice? She put the cup down, with another shiver, and frowned for a moment before looking back at the pegasus again with that smile. "Thank you, miss.....I didn't catch your name."

Daisy May flashed the dark newcomer a friendly smile, "You probably didn't catch my name because I didn't tell. It's Daisy May and you're very welcome."
The Pegasus flirtatiously tossed her pink mane out of her face and took another look at the unicorn. Long, lilac mane was still quite wet. Daisy May found that fascinating since it was not raining when she had come.
"My Hasbro! You sure are wet! Is it raining outside? 'Cause it was pretty sunny when I last looked," she asked her companion.

The black unicorn's green eyes opened wide and she quickly took a drink to hide her expression. Was it just an innocent question? Or did she know? For a moment, Satine collected her thoughts and chose her words very carefully. That horrid mer would be looking for her. Her eyes darted around the room, looking for some kind red pony with the tell tale rainbow colored hair. She gave a sigh of relief when she saw no one like that. Her vision came back to the pink pegasus. "Uh, I fell into the ocean. That's why I'm wet." It wasn't really a lie. When the ship was taken down, she had fallen into the ocean. She gave a sheepish smile to Daisy May. "I'm a little clumsy." She finished and put her cup down, again.

"Aren't we all?" the Pegasus grinned. "With the countless times I've fallen and crashed, it's a miracle that I don't have any brain damage," she giggled, "well...at least not too much anyway."
Daisy May took a quick glance into the unicorn's coffee cup. Her nose caught a bit of its aroma, making her smile a bit wider than before as she smelt the liquid heaven.
"Would you like refill?" she asked as she pointed to the cup, "My treat."
She put on her most charming smile with that statement.

Satine, in turn, smiled back at the pegasus. Her half truth had gone over only too well. This pegasus had no idea who she was and the black unicorn was going to keep it that way, if she could. Still, her damp hair annoyed her and she shivered once again taking the last gulp from her cup.
"Would you like a refill?" she asked as she pointed to the cup, "My treat." Satine's ears perked at her voice. Another cup of coffee would do her a world of good. With another of her most innocent and sweetest smiles, she nodded. "Yes, thank you, Daisy May." she answered giving the cup to the pink pegasus.

Daisy May flashed Satine another charming smile and said, "As you wish."
Then, losing all her sweetness, she pounded her hoof on the bar and gave a slightly hoarse shout, "Hey! I need two more cups of coffee...pronto!"
After an annoyed bartender obeyed the command, all of her previous charm and kindness returned.
"There you go, Love," she told her companion, "Fresh from the pot!"
She took a quick sip of her liquid bliss. I should really ask her for her name, she thought. Perhaps she would ask soon.
"You know, you really oughtn't stay this wet for too much longer," the Pegasus began, "You could quickly fall prey to an illness. And I know I could never live with myself if a pretty li'l unicorn like yourself got sick. I live nearby if you'd like to come home with me. You could take a nice, hot shower and I could make a fire for you to sit by."
Daisy May's eyes met the unicorn's emerald eyes for a few seconds longer before the Pegasus broke the eye contact to take another sip of coffee.
"That is," she added, "if you'd like to."

Satine almost laughed inside as she watched the sweet pegasus suddenly turn quite rough, much like one of her shipmates. It was surprising but also comforting in a way. That thought almost made her giggle as the pegasus became all sweet again, handing off a cup of coffee to her and actually inviting her to come to her house. The unicorn stared at her cup. Should she? It would help her hide from those horrible mers. Her green eyes darted back around the room, still looking for HIM. When she couldn't spot HIM, she gave a sigh of relief. She took a sip from her mug and shivered. "I guess it would be nice.." she thought. She looked at Daisy May and gave a forced sweet smile. "I'd love to, if you don't mind. I'm too cold."

"Super!" Daisy May exclaimed in a sweet voice that would make one quite nauseated.
The Pegasus wondered why her unicorn friend's eyes kept darting around the room. She had noticed before the pony had been looking around the room nervously earlier. Was she expecting someone? A new thought came to her mind: maybe this girl was a super secret spy and was knew the enemy was going to attack them! Note to self, she thought, getting close to this unicorn may prove to be hazardous to my health. She could be wrong, of course. Maybe the pony was ninja...
All these thoughts gave Daisy May a blank expression on her face for a moment. She shook her head slightly to bring herself back to reality.
"Don't worry about paying," she said, not quite as sweetly as before, but still, sweetly, "As I said earlier, 'twas my treat.
"And, by the way, may I ask you your name?"

Satine looked at the pegasus. She wasn't planning on paying anyway since she had absolutely no money what so ever. It and other items of hers were probably now down at the bottom of the ocean with the remains of her home, the ship. Still, she nodded with a smile. "Thank you." She took another sip as the pegasus asked her name. Satine nearly choked on her coffee. What should she say? She couldn't give her real name, could she? She looked down into her coffee as another shiver went through her spine. "My name is uh Velvet." she lied. She couldn't risk this pony knowing too much about her even if she was quite kind.

Daisy May blinked. Velvet was quite the jumpy one, practically choking on her coffee like that. It was a simple question. Nevertheless, she got the girl's name and now she got to make up fun nicknames for her newest friend.
"Ah, Velvet," Daisy May said, "Beautiful."
The Pegasus turned from the dark damsel to shout hoarsely, "Hey! Could I get check here?! Check...please!"
The irritated bartender gave her the check, and not-too-subtlety asked for a tip.
"Here's a tip for you: Faster and more attentive service would be nice," Daisy May replied cleverly to him.
Turning back to her drinking buddy, she sighed and smiled again, "Whenever you're ready, Velvet, we can head home."

Satine gave a smile. "Thank you." she said coyly. Her eyes darted back around the room, again. They still hadn't found her. She decided that the pegasus' place would be a great place to hide herself and think about her next move. So, as the winged pony growled rather gruffly to the bartender, Satine drank down the rest of her coffee. "We can go now." she said sweetly looking to her new 'friend'.

"Brilliant!" exclaimed Daisy May. Pulling money out from where ever a pony wearing no clothes or purse would keep money, she swiftly paid the bill.
"Follow me, my li'l Velveeta," she said with a giggle.
