The flutter frowned at the castle in front of her.
Sure, it was pretty, for a castle. Spectacular, even. But castles just weren't Claire's thing. If I were a princess, I would live in a pleasant little cottage. None of this grand fortress business.
She was only here because after Rosedust had wandered off alone, the queen had of course sent her to fetch her. Claire figured the princess should be drawn to this place like moth to flame. She resolved to ask the next pony she saw about Rosedust.

The Queen looked around the grounds, she was sure she'd seen a pony. There she was!! By the gates. StarDust walked over.
'Hi, can i help you?' StarDust asked politely, wondering why the pony was here. If it was anything personal she wouldn't ask.

Claire jumped a bit, having not noticed the mare coming.
The older pony looked friendly, and seemed to want to be of some assistance, so she eased up almost instantly. She was not familiar with the locals, and did not realize that she was in the company of the queen.
"Oh! Hello, I was just looking for..." For some reason, the flutter could not bring herself to go on and state her relation to Rosedust. After all, what would she call her? Her mistress? Her princess? That almost seemed wrong, considering how close they'd been growing up. She didn't like to think of the other filly as her superior. "...my sister", she finished before she could realize what she was saying.
Deciding it was too late to correct herself now anyway, she went on, "Princess Rosedust of Flutter Valley. She has a yellow coat and pink hair, and she's a flutter pony of course. She wandered away from the boat, and my...parents asked me to look for her." Claire was finding each lie came out more easily than the last, and it was slightly distressing. "I thought she might be here... Have you seen her?"

StarDust looked worried. She was missing her own daughter. 'She might of gone back to the boat. I'm sorry i cant help you any further. I'm just going down there now, why dont you come with me?'

Claire would never expect Rosedust to go back to the boat, but she was frankly all too happy to abandon the task for the moment. It seemed far more pleasant to take a walk with this kind older mare.
"That sounds great", she said with a smile.

StarDust smiled. 'Lets go then.' She started the walk to the docks.
