A strange coloured pegasus 12 year old filly was standing at the water's edge. She stared out to sea. Her patched coat did nothing to protect her from the cold wind, and she shivered. Her silver, turquoise and pink mane and tail twisted round her legs, neck and head, flying in the strong wind.
Flash Bolt tossed her mane out of her eyes. A sad look was on her face. The 12 year old was thinking about her brother, her twin. The other one wasnt worth thinking of, he was dead. What was the point?
She kicked at the sand, the sea water swirling up round her knees. The tide was coming in. And FAST!!
Still, Flash Bolt didnt move a muscle. She just stayed, now shoulder deep in water, staring at the horizen.

AutumnWind was caught by the sand flying everywhere. She coughed and then quietened. Who was this new pony. The population of tropics Island was growing fast. Woughd there be room for all the ponys that would come to stay? She didn't realise that she was staring at the other pony as she thought ((or daydreamed)).

Flash Bolt was now up to the base of her neck in sea water. It didnt bother her though. She just simply changed form to a mer pony.

The tide pulled back and crashed back into itself as the waves made their way onto the beach, each time going farther up the coastline till it shrank back preparing another wave to smash into the sandy beach. It looked brutal like a horrid undertoe but that is not how two young mers and shellie saw it.
"Yahoo!!!!" The call rang out loudly and even more clearly as a wave crested high into the air, ready to pound downward. As it curled, three small ponies, who couldn't have been no more than ten or eleven, could be seen hollering in excitement at the top. One was blue with maroon hair. The next was purple with rainbow locks. And the last was a green with rainbow hair as well. "Here we go!!" one cried as the wave headed downward toward the beach. Crash!
As fast as lightning, the wave crashed into the sand, carrying the three little ponies with it, their heads bobbing around in the current. None managed to stay afloat for very long, the current pulled them under to quickly. But, oddly, none called for help and the wave continued on it's path, joining with a another stronger wave, sending all three ponies sprawling, rolling head over heels across the beach.
There was silence now and the poor ponies as if they had drown, each one face down in the sand. These ponies looked strange. One looked more like a turtle and the other two looked like merponies. More silence. Still, no one moved, no one spoke. Just the silence and the crashing of waves.
"What a ride!" One of the fish finned ponies popped his head straight up out of the sand. It was the purple one, his face caked with wet sand. He shook what he could free and gave a grin as the other two ponies did the same.
"That was so brutal..." The shelled pony rubbed his flipper for a second as if he was hurt. His ears suddenly pinned back and he gave a mischievious little smile. "We should so do that again."
The little green merpony shook her head to get some sand off, spitting out sand kernals here and there. She looked around for a moment and spotted the other patched pony. "Hello.."

Flash Bolt has seen the ride. She smiled, and nodded. 'Hi.' She hadnt noticed Autumn Wind yet.

utumnWind smiled at the ponies riding the waves. She wished she could do that. She was just a boring old land pony. There were too many of them. It wasn't everyday that you saw two mer ponies and a shell pony.

Curling her fins toward her, the green mer gave a smile. "I'm Talle. What's your name?"
The purple mer's ears perked with sound of his sisters greeting. Using a hoof to slick back his wet, sandy forelock, he looked at the new, strange colored pony in the water. He didin't know that she, too, was a mer. He did wonder why she was standing neck deep in the crashing waves. As rough as the sea was, it didn't take her down. He thingyeded his head to the side as he stood silent, watching her. Something about her was less than earthen.
The blue Shellie shook off more sand and lept toward the water like a little turtle. "Come on guys, lets go again..." His fins splashed in the waves but they were the only ones. Realizing he was alone, he glanced around. "Guys?" He turned back toward the beach to see the other two looking at another pony. The shelled pony was about to make his way back when a large wave pulled him under and spat him, tumbling, onto the sand. He lay there flat on his stomach, his forelock sticking to his face and his hair full of sand again. Not again... With a sigh, he pushed it back with his flipper. "Guys..." He stopped. Now that he was closer he could see the new pony more clearly. She had a very strange coloring but he'd seen others with the same scheme. He picked himself up and hobbled on his fins closer, to the pony and his friends. He was curious, as always, and he wanted to see her up close and personal. "Hi." He gave a smile with his simple greeting. "Why are you standing in the water?"

'I'm Flash Bolt.' She replied. Her patchy colour looked odd, but she was used to the stares she got. 'The water isnt dangerous to me, even though it is to most ponies.' She replied, shifting back to her pegasus form, her birth form. She walked out of the water and onto the sand, then shook the water out of her mane and tail.

Talle glanced back at her fins. They were drying out. She shifted to her earth pony form without any hesitation. Her purple brother slapped a hoof to his forehead as he saw her change. Oh well, the other pony was their age. Talle didn't seem worried. Then again, Talle was Talle, known to trust to soon. The young male mer glanced around to see if there were any other strangers. He saw another but she was younger than him and his friends. He checked again. Seeing no one else, he threw caution to the winds and shifted to his earth form without a word but he was still looking at the pegasus.
The little Shell Pony watched in awe as his friends changed from fins to feet right in front of him. He had seen this before but it never ceased to amaze him. He looked at his front flippers for a moment with a bit of envy. He would never know what it was like to walk on feet. That thought kinda saddened him for a moment. But the thought was fleeting. He liked being what he was, a Shell Pony and though it would be nice to walk freely on land, he loved swimming in the sea more. A smile curled his lips again with that thought. He flopped over to the pegasus on his flippers. “I’m Seascape.” He pointed with the tip of one flipper to the purple pony. “This is Coralkind..” He gestured with his head. “And you already met Talle.” His royal blue eyes sparkled. “Are you a friend of the sea?”
Talle noticed the eight year old. She walked over to her on her new earth legs and flashed a warm smile, her rainbow hair blowing in the wind. “Hello.. Who are you?”

((ok))
“Hello.. Who are you?” one of the ponys asked
"Me?" AutumnWing questioned. She wasn't quite consentrated on what the other ponies were doing. She was trying to gain control of the wind. As soon as she saw haw much the sea ponys loved riding the waves she had decided that it would be better with a bit of wind to push them along.
She ignored the question for a moment. She closed her eyes and consentrated. Come on. Just brew up a bit of wind she said to herself.
She felt a little breeze whip her mane pink mane and tailinto the air. She felt as though she would become one with the wind and the leaves on her body would be floating hapily in the air.
She stayed there for a second. Then, all of a sudden, sure enough, a wind scanned the beach. The waves crashed closer to the ponys. Perfect for riding on.
AutumnWind opened her eyes. That was tiring, she hadn't got the hang of it yet. She wasn't used to using her powers yet. Her eyes closed again and she fell to the soft sand. Her eyes shot open and she realized that she was on the ground. She clambered back onto her feet and shyly smiled.
Her cheeks went pink to match her hair and she bit her bottom lip.

The ponies felt the winds change and were nearly swallowed by a huge wave. Quickly, the two mers backed up so they could keep their earth shape. Seascape let the wave carry him, riding it farther up the beach. This time it left him too soon and he fell flat on his stomach into the soft sand. "Wow..." he gave a grin as he propped himself up on his fins and hobbled back to the others. "Did you do that?" he asked the filly excitedly.
That's when the poor earthbound pony fell into the sand, momentarily. The green filly rushed to her aid. " Are you alright?" she asked with sincere concern.
The little shellie flopped toward her too. He reached her moments after Talle did. "What happened?"
Coralkind looked on from where he was, the wind blowing through his rainbow hair. He knew Talle would help the filly so he decided to find out more about the strange pegasus, just a few feet from him. She seemed vaguely familier, as if she was not what she seemed. She was definately a friend of the sea, but how much of a friend? He looked at her through his dark blue eyes. "Where are you from, Flash Bolt?"
((Redbow, Con from Jumping Ship))
Another wave crested, violently. Something broke the surface, suddenly, breaching like a whale. Coralkind turned toward the sound, his ears perked. To his surprise a red mer jumped clean out of the waves and landed on the beach, his rainbow hair stuck to his coat. "Redbow?" It was all Coaralkind could say.
Redbow didn't even acknowledge his younger brother. He just pulled himself up the beach, his fins drying and shifting into earth legs. And just as quickly as he had come, he shot off, galloping toward inland part of the island to warn them.
Coralkind, his sister, and his friend watched him go in confusion. What was going on?

Flash Bolt looked after the red pony. 'You know him? Whats he doing?' She asked. Then she remembered Coralkind's question. 'Oh... uhh... Somewhere far away.' And she looked down.

AutumnWind smiled "I'm fine, I'm just not good at using my power yet. I guess I'm not used to it either" She stopped blushing and giggled a bit. She had to admit, she probably did look funny. "What's a Redbow?" she asked after hearing Coralkind say it.
"I did it" she told Seascape.

“You know him? What’s he doing?” Flash Bolt asked.
Coralkind was the first to speak but he did not look away from the direction his older brother had run off to. “He’s my brother…” He thingyed his head to the side, confused at the moment. “That’s Redbow, one of my brothers…” he trailed off for a moment, thinking. “… and I don’t know what he’s doing…” he lifted an eyebrow looking to Talle for some kind of answer. She just shrugged and looked to Seascape as if he would know.
The little shellie stared in the direction of the red pony’s run, wondering what was going on. Soon he felt the eyes of his friends on him and he slowly looked at them. They were actually looking to him for the answer! He shifted his little flippers in the sand feeling put on the spot, at the least. He looked down at the sand around him, wondering what to say, hoping they would get that he had no clue about Redbow’s intentions. Still feeling eyes on him, Seascape flopped his front flippers out in front of him in exasperation. “Well, don’t look at me! He’s your brother… I don’t know what going on.. Don’t you?”
Talle smirked. “Calm down, Seascape. We know you’re clueless.”
Seascape gave a playful frown. “Hey…” he began in protest but Coralkind’s voice cut him off.”
“Whatever he’s up to, he’s sure in a hurry…”
His ears perked as AutumnWind asked a question. "What's a Redbow?"
The purple pony finally looked at AutumnWind, a smile breaking on his muzzle. “Redbow is a ‘who’.” He gazed into the sand for a moment, watching the tiny flecks of gold in it, his smile fading back into confusion. “He’s myself and Talle’s older brother.” He looked back up at the two fillies. “But I don’t know why he’s in such a hurry. Something must be wrong….”
Talle walked over to her brother and put a hoof on his shoulder. “Don’t worry, Coralkind. Whatever it is, Redbow will fix it. He always does. Doesn’t he?”
Coralkind nodded slowly. “Yes, but what if he needs help….?”
Seascape gave a small chuckle. “When has Redbow ever needed us? We’re little bits compared to him. It’s best if we stay out of the way, Coral.”
Coralkind looked at his friends. They were right. Redbow was an adult and strong, able to handle anything. He was just a young mer. It would be best not to try and help. Redbow could handle himself, just like always. With a sigh the purple pony decided to let things be. “I guess you’re right.” His sombere face turned into a growing grin. “So, want to ride it again?”
Talle and Seascape gave each other a knowing, mischievous glance as they headed into the water. Coralkind prepared to run into the waves as well, but stopped, looking at the fillies. “Do you two swim? You can come with us if you like. It's so much fun. Come and join us.”
